Down the Chute - beer & wine challenge

Date and Time:
Sat, 05/11/2013 - 3:00pm - 7:00pm

The First Eva' Down the Chute Beer & Wine Challenge, a tasting event, has been rescheduled for 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, at the Camden Snow Bowl lodge.

Sponsored by West Bay Rotary, the event was originally intended to take place the Friday of Toboggan Nationals weekend to create a way to offset costs that was also fun.

After the previously incurred expenses are paid from the cancellation the events on Toboggan weekend due to the blizzard, additional funds will be donated to the Ragged Mountain Foundation in the names of Jeff Kuller and Rotarians Ken Bailey and Don Gross, all of whom died in 2012.

Vendors for the rescheduled event include Andrew's Brewing Company, Breakwater Vineyards, Cellardoor Winery, Gritty's, Infidel Brewing, Penobscot Bay Brewery, Sebago Brewing Company, Shipyard and Winterport Winery.

Tickets purchased through website Brown Paper Tickets were refunded when the February event was cancelled, Dresser said, but tickets purchased from Rotarians will still be honored in May. Tickets for the revamped event are once again available on Brown Paper Tickets.

Tickets are $20 in advance, and $25 at the door, which buys guests a commemorative tasting glass and 10 drink tickets. Bracelets for designated drivers will be $5, which will entitle them to free food and nonalcoholic beverages.

Information about the updated event can be found at the Down the Chute Facebook page, or by calling 592-1806.
