Mountain biking at Ragged Mountain offers a uniquely Maine experience
Where rugged single track trails, flowing downhill runs, and sweeping views of Penobscot Bay come together on the slopes of Ragged Mountain. Known as the only ski area on the East Coast with ocean views, the Snow Bowl transforms in the warmer months into a four-season outdoor playground for riders of all skill levels. The trail network features a mix of technical terrain with roots, rocks, berms, and wooded climbs that wind through the mountain’s forests and ski trails. There is no summer lift service at this time, but the views are worth the climb.
Riders looking for an adrenaline rush can tackle the famous Dreadnought Trail, a machine-built downhill flow trail packed with rollers, berms, jumps, and optional technical features that feel more like a lift-access bike park experience. For more casual riders and families, the Snow Bowl also connects to a broader network of multi-use trails including Coast Mountain Land Trust’s Round the Mountain Trail and Goose River Trail Network.
